LED Phototherapy in Canton
Not every skin concern requires an intensive treatment. LED Phototherapy offers a gentle, non-invasive approach that uses specific wavelengths of light to support the appearance and condition of the skin. It can be a convenient option for people who want to address certain concerns without needles, incisions, or significant downtime.
At Dream Spa Medical in Canton, LED Phototherapy uses red and blue light based on your skin’s needs and treatment goals. The appropriate wavelength can be selected during your consultation to create a treatment approach suited to your individual concerns.
Red and Blue LED Light
LED Phototherapy works by exposing the skin to specific wavelengths of low-level light. Red and blue light have different applications, which allows treatment to be tailored rather than using the same type of light for every patient.
Red light is commonly used in skincare to support collagen production and the skin’s natural repair processes. It may be incorporated into treatments focused on fine lines, uneven-looking texture, redness, and overall skin rejuvenation.
Blue light is commonly used for acne-prone skin because of its interaction with acne-causing bacteria. It may be considered when breakouts and related skin concerns are part of your treatment goals.
What can LED Phototherapy Address?
LED Phototherapy may be appropriate for a range of cosmetic skin concerns, including acne, redness, uneven-looking skin, signs of sun damage, and visible signs of aging. It can also be incorporated into a broader skincare or facial treatment plan when your provider feels that light therapy may complement your other treatments.
The best approach depends on your skin and the concern you want to address. During your consultation, your provider can evaluate your skin and determine whether LED Phototherapy is appropriate for you.

What Happens During Treatment?
An LED Phototherapy session takes approximately 30 minutes. Once your skin has been prepared, you relax while the selected light is directed toward the treatment area. The treatment is non-invasive, and you may notice a comfortable warming sensation while the light is being delivered.
There is generally no extended downtime, allowing you to return to your normal activities after your appointment. Depending on your goals, your provider may recommend LED Phototherapy as a standalone treatment or as part of a combination skincare approach.

Look Better & Feel Better Today
Let our team help you on your aesthetic journey!
LED Phototherapy treatments are 100% non-surgical, non-invasive, and don’t specifically require any topical creams or gels. During your treatment you get to relax as your treatment area(s) receive healing doses of LED light frequencies. It’s basically like lying on the beach and enjoying the light—but without the sand finding hidden places! Your skin will feel a comfortable warming.
There’s zero downtime after LED Phototherapy, and no redness or swelling. You can get right back to your day as your body responds to your chosen therapeutic frequency.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss your concerns and identify which frequency is best to achieve your goals. If deeper-penetrating red light therapy is the best choice for your unique situation, it can help:
- Address fine lines and wrinkles.
- Reduce sun damage/age spots.
- Heal skin, muscle, and even bone tissue.
- Reduce acne outbreaks & scarring.
- Improve skin texture.
- Reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
- Treat psoriasis and eczema.
- Reduce skin redness and rosacea.
- Improve the appearance of scars.
It may even help with dementia!
If you’re undergoing blue light phototherapy at Dream Medical Spa, it can help:
- Kill acne-causing bacteria.
- Improve skin texture.
- Enhance skin tone.
- Address sun damage.
Blue light phototherapy is often used in conjunction with specific topical medications to treat certain types of cancer and pre-treat precancerous spots (actinic keratoses).
Every patient is different, and some may have mild reactions to the specific light wavelength. For patients with prominent sensitivities, blue light phototherapy specifically may cause temporary:
- Mild skin irritation.
- Sun sensitivity.
- Flaking/crusting/peeling.
Your Dream Spa Medical provider will go over your medical history during your consultation and ensure that you understand both the possible side effects and the realistic beneficial results. Because the positive effects are temporary, scheduling a consistent regimen of treatments will promote optimal results.
