The LED Phototherapy Process
LED Phototherapy in Brookline only takes about 30 minutes to complete. The light frequency chosen will depend on the issue you want to address. Blue light treats the upper layer of your skin, while red light penetrates deeper. An example of the different therapy outcomes: blue LED Phototherapy can kill acne-causing bacteria, whereas red LED Phototherapy can promote collagen production.
Look Better & Feel Better Today
Let our team help you on your aesthetic journey!
LED Phototherapy treatments are 100% non-surgical, non-invasive, and don’t specifically require any topical creams or gels. During your treatment you get to relax as your treatment area(s) receive healing doses of LED light frequencies. It’s basically like lying on the beach and enjoying the light—but without the sand finding hidden places! Your skin will feel a comfortable warming.
There’s zero downtime after LED Phototherapy, and no redness or swelling. You can get right back to your day as your body responds to your chosen therapeutic frequency.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss your concerns and identify which frequency is best to achieve your goals. If deeper-penetrating red light therapy is the best choice for your unique situation, it can help:
- Address fine lines and wrinkles.
- Reduce sun damage/age spots.
- Heal skin, muscle, and even bone tissue.
- Reduce acne outbreaks & scarring.
- Improve skin texture.
- Reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
- Treat psoriasis and eczema.
- Reduce skin redness and rosacea.
- Improve the appearance of scars.
It may even help with dementia!
If you’re undergoing blue light phototherapy at Dream Medical Spa, it can help:
- Kill acne-causing bacteria.
- Improve skin texture.
- Enhance skin tone.
- Address sun damage.
Blue light phototherapy is often used in conjunction with specific topical medications to treat certain types of cancer and pre-treat precancerous spots (actinic keratoses).
Every patient is different, and some may have mild reactions to the specific light wavelength. For patients with prominent sensitivities, blue light phototherapy specifically may cause temporary:
- Mild skin irritation.
- Sun sensitivity.
- Flaking/crusting/peeling.
Your Dream Spa Medical provider will go over your medical history during your consultation and ensure that you understand both the possible side effects and the realistic beneficial results. Because the positive effects are temporary, scheduling a consistent regimen of treatments will promote optimal results.
