The PRP, PRF, & Growth Factor Process
It starts with a personalized consultation. We’ll explore your unique concerns and goals while carefully evaluating your treatment area(s). If PRP, PRF, & growth factor in Canton best achieves your objectives, we’ll craft a personalized treatment plan.
To make PRP/PRF/growth factor, we draw a blood sample and process it through centrifugation. This harvests concentrated platelets and plasma, which is added to your chosen treatment or used on its own.

Let our team help you on your aesthetic journey!
The good news is that almost anyone seeking a natural, minimally invasive solution for concerns like aging skin, under-eye hollows, or hair loss is a potential candidate for PRP, PRF, and growth factor.
Specifically, ideal candidates for PRP treatments typically:
- Enjoy overall good health.
- Do not smoke.
- Have not recently undergone steroid treatments.
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Do not have active skin infections or rashes in the treatment area.
Given that PRP is derived from your own blood, it carries an extremely low risk of any adverse reactions, making it a safe and effective option for a broad range of individuals.
The PRP, PRF, and growth factor process kicks off by drawing a small amount of blood from your arm. This collected blood is then placed into a specialized centrifuge to separate its components, isolating the platelet-rich plasma. The enhanced healing and rejuvenation possibilities happen when this enriched plasma is either re-injected directly into your skin, or used in combination with microneedling. Alternatively, it can be blended into a gel and applied topically in the designated treatment area.
The great news is that there’s minimal downtime to worry about, and you can typically resume your regular activities right after the procedure. However, there might be some temporary side effects, such as slight pain, minor bleeding at the injection site, and minimal swelling lasting for about 4 to 5 days. When used as a topical gel, it’s gentle on your skin and doesn’t cause any issues.
PRP, PRF, and growth factor treatments are not only low-risk and minimally invasive, but they also come with a swift recovery period. In fact, they’re often a results-enhancing addition to various treatments, giving them that intriguing “vampire” boost, especially for facials. The benefits are truly impressive, including:
- Increased collagen production.
- Enhanced skin tone, texture, and quality.
- Brighter, smoother, and more voluminous skin around the eyes.
- Firmer, tighter skin.
- Long-lasting results.
- A noteworthy substitute for filler treatments.
- Non-surgical hair restoration.
- Revitalized hair follicles capable of producing healthy strands.
- Renewed hair growth.
- A fuller, more robust head of hair.
These naturally-derived treatment boosters work harmoniously to rejuvenate and enhance your natural beauty, ensuring you look and feel your absolute best.
Pre- and Post-Care Instructions for PRP, PRF, and Growth Factors in Canton
- Women who are pregnant or nursing should not be treated with PRP, PRF, and Growth Factor injections.
- We suggest that if you are actively trying to conceive, you consult your physician before being treated with PRP, PRF, and Growth Factor injections.
- Please allow a minimum of 2 weeks’ time in between any vaccinations and your treatment.
- It is best to avoid alcohol & blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) 24 to 48 hours prior to your treatment. This may increase your risk of bruising.
- Bruising is always a risk with this procedure. For this reason, we recommend taking Arnica tablets for 5 days leading up to your procedure.
- If you are prone to and being treated in an area that may cause a Herpes Labialis outbreak, we suggest pretreating with an antiviral medication for 2 days prior to your treatment and 2 days post-treatment. Dream Spa Medical is happy to provide you with a prescription, assuming that you are a candidate for this prescription.
- We always suggest hydrating as much as possible prior to any treatment at Dream Spa Medical. It is a great way to help your body function at its best and help to accelerate your healing time as well as enhance results. For this treatment, we strongly encourage increasing your hydration by 30% to 50% as well as increasing intake of green leafy vegetables, such as celery juice, as it drastically improves the quality of the growth factor content that we are able to extract from your blood.
- You may consider having at least a snack or a small meal within an hour of your appointment. Getting injected with needles and/or having your blood taken can, at times, cause you to feel “queasy” or unwell. It always helps to have a little something in your stomach to combat those feelings. We keep juice and snack bars on hand in case you need a little pick-me-up mid-treatment!
- The treated area will feel sensitive and tender to the touch. This should resolve within 24 to 48 hours.
- Bruising and swelling can be expected and will subside within 3 to 7 days. Most of the swelling is actually the fluid or plasma portion of the product being absorbed by your body as the platelet portion of the product creates the growth stimulating matrix. It is important not to apply pressure to this area for at least a week after your treatment, as any pressure could disrupt the matrix and impede results. You may gently apply Arnica for bruising.
- Avoid NSAIDs and aspirin for approximately 2 weeks after your treatment. NSAIDs increase the risk of bruising and interfere with the collagen stimulating process.
- Avoid heavy lifting, strenuous activity, and excessive sweating for 24 to 48 hours.
- Visible injection marks are normal and to be expected in most cases. This usually subsides within 24 hours. You may apply makeup after this timeframe.
- Treated areas should be cared for gently when washing your face or applying products. It is best not to touch or manipulate the treated area.
- Do not scratch or pick at the injection sites, as this may cause infection.
- We suggest waiting a minimum of 1 week before any additional treatments, such as facials, peels, laser treatments, etc.
- Try to sleep on your back, with your head elevated, for 1 to 2 nights.
PRP/PRF injectable treatments are highly effective treatments that utilize your body’s own natural growth factors to rejuvenate areas of concern. These treatments are most effective when combined with collagen induction therapy and done as part of a series.
