How Laser Vein Removal Works
We believe it’s important to offer patients a variety of choices when it comes to treatment. So we offer Candela® Nordlys and GentleMax® Pro for laser vein removal.
They are different in that they both emit distinct wavelengths of light, but they are both designed to help erase damaged and problematic veins. Once they cause the troublesome vein to collapse, the body will naturally absorb it, clearing up your skin.

You don’t have to worry about serious side effects. You may, however, notice:
- Slight redness.
- Slight soreness.
- Mild swelling.
These are not permanent effects, and they should disappear shortly. Additionally, there is little to no downtime necessary upon completion of laser vein removal in Canton.
While the look of a spider vein may seem a little concerning, you don’t have to worry about lasting damage. Traditionally, spider veins are not a sign of a serious medical condition. But that doesn’t mean you have to live with them. Besides, spider veins can often cause irritation and pain. We don’t think you should have to settle for something that makes you uncomfortable.
Whether you’re using GentleMax Pro or Nordlys, our laser systems can quickly eliminate troublesome spider veins from your body.
Not only is the laser vein removal treatment fast (we can usually complete them between 15 and 30 minutes), it’s also pain-free. You may notice some tingling, but you likely won’t have to deal with any downtime following the treatment.
You may need more than one treatment for laser vein removal in Canton, but we can’t know for sure until you meet with us. We take our consultations seriously. When you come to meet with us, we’ll offer you advice and feedback on the entire vein removal process.
Pre- & Post-Care Instructions for Laser Vein Removal in Canton
- Women who are pregnant should not receive laser vein removal. If you are nursing and would like to pursue treatment we ask that you consult your PCP for clearance.
- Avoid direct sun exposure & tanning beds for 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
- Please avoid using self-tanners for 2 weeks prior to your appointment specifically in the area to be treated. If you have used self-tanner outside of the 2-week timeframe, we ask that you please exfoliate the area to ensure no remnants of the product are left in the area to be treated. The laser energy could burn the surface of the skin since the laser could target the “tanned area” instead of your vein.
- If you are currently taking oral antibiotics or steroids, you should discontinue the medication for 10 days prior to your appointment.
- It is best if you arrive to your appointment free of makeup, perfume, lotion, or other cosmetic products in the treatment area.
- If you have a known allergy or sensitivity to Cryogen Cooling Therapy, please inform our team when scheduling your appointment.
- We always suggest hydrating as much as possible prior to any treatment at Dream Spa Medical. It is a great way to help your body function at its best and help to accelerate your healing time as well as enhance results.
- Consider elevating your legs for the first 48 hours if they were treated. We also recommend wearing support hose for at least 72 hours after leg vein treatments.
- Treated veins frequently remain visible for 3 to 6 weeks before dissipating. This is due to residual clotted blood in the vessel and the time it takes for your body to naturally reabsorb the unwanted blood/tissue.
- A red scab may form under the skin. After a few weeks, your body will reabsorb it. Successful treatments usually exhibit this.
- It is possible to have pain from the treatment of larger veins for several days post-treatment. Tylenol and/or Arnica are recommended for any discomfort.
- It is advised to remain out of the sun for 1 week. It is recommended that you use a medical-grade sunblock for any sun exposure.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, sweating, and excessive temperatures for 72 hours.
- You may proceed with any injectable treatments and most cosmetic procedures immediately following your treatment.
